Pumpkin Carving...Big Whoop

Hi everyone!

So today Daddy and Mommy were very excited to carve our pumpkin. Me, not so much. I really had no interest. I don't know why they thought I would like it- it has no doors or light switches or remote controls. I watched Daddy cut the top off, but that was about it. I was much more interested in the Apple Jacks cereal that came free with the newspaper today.
Here's the finished product:
And here's the only picture Mommy could get of me and the jack-o-lantern together:
I've got my costume all ready for the weekend- Daddy picked it out, so you know it's going to be good!

Pumpkins

On Sunday, Daddy, Mommy and I went to a pumpkin patch. There were about a million pumpkins. I had fun running up and down the rows.
I picked out a perfect pumpkin...
But I let Daddy do the heavy lifting.
They also had a ring toss...
that took me a while to figure out.
And a beanbag toss.

I met some new friends at the pumpkin patch.
They laid down on the ground to take a family photo, so I did what they were doing.
After they left, I put my head where they did.
I thought it would be fun to pat the huge pumpkin... Daddy thought it would be fun to pick the big pumpkin's nose.

Soon we're going to carve the pumpkin. That sounds pretty messy, so I think I'll like it!

My First Haircut!

Hi everyone!
My hair's been getting pretty long- here's a shot of the back (notice the lovely curls, courtesy of Mommy)
And here's one from the front- I've definitely had some pretty bad hair days recently.
So I made an appointment at the local salon for a haircut. There were tons of toys to play with, I got to sit in this really cool fire truck chair and wear a cool cape. The nice lady squirted my hair with water (which I did not like), then she combed my hair (which I really liked), and let me play with a comb. It was totally cool.
For like a minute.
Then, they informed me I had to stay in the chair! Don't they know how well I can walk now? There's so much to look at! Why would I want to stay in one place? Here's a video Daddy took of how the rest of it basically went:

And here are the after pictures:

Pretty suave, eh? I was cranky the rest of the day, so we couldn't really get a good smiling picture, but I'm sure we'll be able to take one in the next few days.
We're planning on picking up some pumpkins soon, so stay tuned!

Visit to Aunt Debi's House

Hi everyone! You'll never believe all the fun I had this weekend! We went to Charleston and stayed with Aunt Debi (technically Great-Aunt Debi, sometimes known as Awesome-Aunt Debi).
We did lots of fun stuff- we went to a barbeque restaurant that had fun doors to push open. We also went to a playground at Cousin Julia's house. It was really hot outside, so we left the playground. Here we are in the car. Aunt Debi knows a lot of the same games Grandma does- "This Little Piggy" and that funny "Eye Winker" rhyme.

I had lots of fun playing at Aunt Debi's house. There were some fun toys to play with, but mostly I liked running around the house. I also made friends with Abigail.
Here I am playing football with Abigail. She likes to give kisses as much as I do. (By the way, I love my new football- it has the Piggly Wiggly pig on it. And my cool shirt in the picture above says "I'm big on the pig!")
On Sunday, we got to visit with Harvey and Christine. They're friends of Great-Grandma Joy. We had a very nice visit with them; they have a great yard to run around in and a fun house to explore. (Don't mind the mean look on my face, I was just cranky.)

At Harvey and Christine's house, I played with my favorite toy- the remote control! Here I am using it as a telephone.
And here I am hanging onto it even while upside down.
We had such a great time in Charleston! I was so pooped from having fun that when we got in the car to come home, I was asleep before I could even get my hand out of my snack trap bowl. Thanks for the great visit, Aunt Debi and family!
Love,
Q

My Latest Exploits

Hi, everybody!
I've been doing so much fun stuff lately, I thought I'd give you an update. Here are some things I like doing now:

  • turning light switches on and off
  • opening and closing doors (still a favorite)
  • getting chased around the house by Daddy
  • chasing the cats around the house
  • climbing onto stuff (chairs, the coffee table, the couch)
  • yelling loudly at people walking past our house
  • throwing balls
  • eating with a spoon (I get tired of using the spoon, so I use my hands sometimes, too)

  • holding phones up to my ear (the back of my head, a lot of times) and saying "Hello?"
  • hugging and kissing other babies
  • pushing my golf bag around

  • saying "oh!" when I drop stuff. Mommy says "uh oh," but I prefer to shorten it. Here's a video of me dropping my cheerios, helping Mommy clean up my mess and then I got to drink from a real cup.

By the way, I didn't hurt myself there at the end, just slipped a little.
Talk to you later!
