Charleston in July

Early in July we headed to Charleston for our beach vacation! We stayed with Aunt Debi and hung out with her family for the week. Our first day there we headed straight for the beach.

I hung out in the sand (and near the snacks)

And Quinn headed straight for the waves. Aunt Debi had a boogie board for Quinn and he took to it like a duck to water...

I think he liked it.

I liked the water, too. I liked getting water for my sandcastles and then washing my hands in the shallow water. Later I got braver and had Mommy or Daddy hold me while the waves crashed on us. It was a blast!

Another day we headed to a splash park. Cousin Owen and Quinn loved this umbrella fountain. We would sit under it over and over and over.

I preferred the fountains I could step on.

Next to the splash park there was a really cool playground.

In the afternoon, we headed over to Cousin Owen's house to play in their pool. My favorite thing to do was to ride this shark and go around and "bite" people.

Owen and Quinn liked jumping into the pool.

I liked hanging around the sides

Uh oh, something's under the water...

Ahh!

I showed him!

Quinn's getting really good at swimming.

And flying through the air.

Cousin Tyler's pretty good at hanging out.

And getting smooched on

It was the 4th of July! Cousin Julia had all the makings for a perfect celebration- snappers (you throw them down and they make a really loud noise- all us boys liked those!)

Cousins!

And some outtakes...

Then we had red, white and blue star marshmallows to make smores...

You can just tell how good they were...

And sparklers! We had a very happy 4th!

The next day we headed to the beach again. The weather wasn't perfect, but we still found ways to have fun.

Daddy taught me to fight the waves. I took my job seriously.

We had an awesome time hanging out with our cousins- can't wait to do it again!
