Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Great-Grandma Maggie!

Here's a song for you- I practiced all week, but got a little camera shy when I actually had to perform. Hope you're having a great day!

Busy Bees

Last weekend, we were really busy. On Friday, the city of Decatur had their annual Beach Party. They truck in tons of sand and cover the streets with it for all of us kids to play in.

They also had a "boardwalk" with kids' games and inflatable fun houses. I'm getting pretty good at these!

On Sunday, we went to the Fernbank Museum (or the "Newseum" as I call it). The Bubble Man was entertaining us outside with his crazy bubbles.

Inside, in the Great Hall, they were having a special Superhero Day! There were tons of people dressed up as superheroes and games and music.

It was a little too loud for me, though. I watched the partying from afar.

And then we went to my favorite part of the museum, the Nature Quest exhibit.

And we had to stop by to say hi to the dinosaurs.

Later, Daddy and I played with my new Tinkertoys and built a microphone stand. Here I am performing my new rap song.

Quinn at 3

It sure has been a busy year!

I'm such a big boy now, it's hard to believe I was ever a baby like Logan! Here's what I'm up to:
  • I'm 36 inches tall and weigh 31 pounds.
  • I wear size 2T clothes and size 8 shoes.
  • I'm potty-trained! (mostly...)
  • I go to bed at 8 p.m. and wake up around 8 a.m. Sometimes after I go to bed I realize I "need" something and I'll scream for Mommy or Daddy.
  • I nap everyday from about 1:30 to 4:00.
  • I love to eat raisins, peanut butter sandwiches and fruit snacks.
  • I like to play with cars, Little People toys, puzzles and the computer.
  • Outside I play with my water table, kiddie pool, bubbles and any kind of ball.
  • My favorite books are "Lego City," "The Dangerous Book for Boys" and anything by Dr. Seuss
  • I know all the letters and the numbers 1-19 (but I still tend to miss a few in the middle)
  • I can name a lot of shapes, colors, and dinosaurs
  • I mostly speak in full sentences, except I sometimes still leave out prepositions and don't bother with verb tenses. Today I said "I have put toys away" and "I wanna play in my pool now. I get down all by myself."
  • I LOVE my little brother Logan. When we go out, I tell everybody "This my new baby Logan." I love to give him kisses and hug him and hold him and get him toys. Sometimes I also love him soooo much that I have to hit him or give him a little love bite. I spend a few minutes in time out each day thinking about how much I love Logan.
If there's one word people use to describe me nowadays, it's usually "ACTIVE!"

Love from your favorite three-year-old,
Quinn

It's My Birthday!

It's my birthday today! And I'm three!

This morning, I opened my presents from so many of my favorite people. Thank you, everyone!

I got some awesome new underwear from Grandma. And I wore them today and they stayed dry!

When I opened a present, I would say "Ta!" (as in "ta da!")

I loved my Alphie robot from Grandpa George.

And I had to put together my garage from Great Grandma Maggie right away.

Logan liked watching me open my presents.

I got some cool building toys. We had a lot of projects going on.

Mommy and Daddy gave me a t-ball set. The box had a picture of a boy with a backwards baseball cap on. I had to wear mine exactly the same way.

Here's my first hit! Watch out Major League!

In the afternoon, we had my birthday party! It was at a place called HippoHopp. It's an indoor playground with playhouses and inflatable bouncy slides.

It was a superhero party. I wore my Batman shirt and Logan wore a Wolverine shirt. (Cause Wolverine's real name is Logan, get it?!)

My friends came to celebrate with me! Here's Sophia:

While the crazy kids ran around, Grandma sat with Logan. He was checking the place out to see what he'd be playing with in a couple of years.

After playtime, we went into our party room for pizza and juice boxes. The black splotch on my face is the work of the least talented face painter I've ever met. It's supposed to be a rocket ship.

And cake!

Look at my awesome fork skills. Daddy says I look like I'm eating a leg of turkey at a Renaissance Fair.

And presents!

I love my friends!

And my family!

Happy Birthday to me! Thanks to everyone who made my birthday so special!
