Men of Many Words

There are a lot of words flying around our house these days. This little guy is talking up a storm.

Here are some of his words:
Mommy, Daddy, E (that's what he calls me, for some reason)

cup, ball, spoon, fork,

thanks, please, mine, more, all done,

water, milk, juice, cheese, butter (for peanut butter), vitamin

car, choo choo, guy, light

no, shoes, fish, water

and Spider-Man, of course.

And he even empties the dishwasher.

His biggest problem right now is that he can't say everything he wants to say. He knows EXACTLY how everything should be, and if it's not just right, he SCREAMS! If Daddy makes his sandwich wrong or if Mommy uses the wrong sippy cup, or if I take the wrong toy, boy will Logan cry about it.

And speaking of words, you wouldn't believe how many words I can read now!

I can read pretty much all the easy ones. And then I can read ones like "envelope," "knight" and "adventure." I have such an awesome memory sometimes I can remember a word after seeing it just once. I even read "Bud Light" off a billboard after I watched a football game with Daddy.

Last weekend I got to have my friend Owen over for our first sleepover at our house. We talked "all night." According to Mommy it was only 8:30, but it felt like we talked for hours. We talked about stuff we liked and books we've read. Daddy had to come up and tell us to be quiet a few times.

This weekend, I got to bring Petunia Panda home to visit with us. She's the mascot for my preschool class. She spends a weekend with each of us and we take pictures and write in her journal about her visit.

On Saturday, Daddy took us (me, Logan and Petunia) to Leapin' Lizards to jump around. He thought we were all worn out, but the only one who took a good nap afterwards was Daddy! After naps, we played outside with our neighbors. Sophia has a Barbie Jeep that I love to drive.

Then we rented a movie for Petunia. We were looking for Kung Fu Panda, but we couldn't find it. We found a fish movie instead.

On Sunday, Petunia went with me to church. We learned about the Golden Rule.

After church, we went to the library to find some panda books to read to our panda. I let Petunia pick between two books.

We had a lovely weekend with Petunia and I think she even taught us a new word or two...

Choo Choo!

Last weekend we went to a train museum to see some real trains!

We got to climb up in the front of this train and pretend to drive it.

Logan was my co-pilot. Or maybe it's co-engineer?

They had trains outside and then warehouses full of long trains with all sorts of cars.

We got to see train cars where people would sit...

and sleep...

And even where the mail got sorted.

Then we got to take a ride on a train. It wasn't a very long ride, but we had fun anyway.

This was the train we rode on.

There was a room with a big model train and a whole town with hills and cars and little people walking around.

Quinn liked pushing the button to make the little train start.

Quinn was enthralled.

We both loved the museum!

Christmas Part 2

Continuing our Christmas celebrations, we went to Grandma Pam and Grandpa Steve's house and there were still more presents!

I got an easel that Grandma helped me play with.

Quinn got a crown and he and Grandpa played a game where they kept stealing the crown from each other and whoever had the crown got to be the king.

It was a pretty serious game.

Even Daddy got involved.

My favorite game was putting my "guys" into the train set.

Grandpa and Uncle Kevin helped Quinn build lots of Lincoln Log forts.

They never stayed up very long.

Before we left we made sure to play with the toys in the basement, too.

Here's Quinn teaching the parrot to say "Logan is a little stinker!"

Bottom line, Christmas was pretty yummy.
