Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a fun day at home and at school. Mommy made us fun treats for breakfast, then we went to school. I gave out these valentines to my friends.

After school, I worked really hard and made Mommy a super sweet surprise valentine. It was my own idea and I made it all by myself!

Logan enjoyed the heart-shaped everything we had all day- heart cookies, heart sandwiches, heart candies.

(And yes, we're both getting haircuts very soon...)

Mommy made us new red playdough in honor of Valentine's Day.

In school, I wrote this book about the people I love.

Mommy...

Logan's next (see how I wrote his name- I started on the bottom and ended the word on the top row)...

And Bryce! (He's a kid in my class. Why include Bryce? they asked. "Because I love him," I said.)

Last, but not least, Daddy.  I love my family! And Bryce.

And here's a beautiful piece Logan made at his school- I'm impressed he sat still long enough to make all those hand prints!

Besides all the fun of Valentine's Day, we had some extra excitement on Thursday because President Obama was in town! He came to our little city of Decatur to talk about preschool. He was at my friends Sophia and William's school. Then he was RIGHT across the street from my school. The street in front of my school was blocked off and all the parents had to walk to school to pick us kids up. We stopped to see the crowds, but we couldn't stay to see the big man himself. We've been talking a lot about presidents at school lately, and when I heard he was coming, I thought it was for Presidents' Day. Sounds logical to me. I already met President Clinton (at a book signing with Daddy), so I didn't think it was really that big of a deal for President Obama to be coming to my town, but everybody else was very excited and proud for him to come to Decatur.

Here he is talking at the Decatur Rec Center. It was kind of cool to be just a couple of blocks away from the President, even if we didn't get to see him.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
