Listen to Us

Here are some videos of us lately.
Here's Logan talking about lots of important stuff

Here I am in the children's choir singing "Jesus Loves Me". I'm in the front row, the third one from the right.

Here I am reading one of my Magic Tree House books.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

It's finally Halloween; we've been waiting for so long. This is the first time we both really knew what was going on and got into the holiday. Quinn went back and forth between a red ninja and the Flash, so it took him awhile to come to a decision. I, on the other hand, wanted to be Superman. But then I saw this Mickey costume and thought that was a good idea, too. All week I've been saying I was going to dress up as "Mickey Mouse Super Why." Not sure if that meant first Mickey, then Super Why or both together, but once I got my Mickey costume on I never said anything about Super Why so we went with it!

We got dressed up and trick-or-treated with our friends from our neighborhood. Here we all are- Mickey, the Hulk (Sebastian), Red Ninja, Cleopatra (Paige), Construction Worker (Rowan), Princess Sophia the First (Audrey) and Baby Dino (Ezra).

We had fun running around together.

I was pretty excited once I realized people were giving out candy. Must have forgotten that part from last year. I was very good about saying "Thank you," but I said it very quietly most of the time.

Quinn and Audrey are in the same class at school together and they stuck together most of the night.

We were very excited that one house gave out raisins! I imagine our attitudes on that will change in a few years.

When we got home we checked out our loot, chose one treat to chow down on and watched the traditional Charlie Brown special before we conked out. It was a great night!

Before the actual holiday, we've been enjoying a lovely Halloween season. When Grandpa George came to visit a couple of weeks ago, we went to a pumpkin patch fun place. Quinn loved the bouncy pillow. I didn't try it.

I did like the pirate ship, though. And just a side note, Daddy dressed me this day. We had a day full of soccer, pumpkin fun, and a birthday party. I got many many compliments on my blazer.

Quinn's making a sad face because he's in jail.

They had a cool bee house with bees who came in and out and we learned all about honey. Quinn loved it.

And we took a hayride

Through fields populated with animated characters.

We each picked out a pumpkin and Quinn helped Daddy take it to the register.

Just this weekend, we carved the pumpkins. Quinn drew out his face on paper first, Mommy transferred it to the pumpkin and Daddy carved it.

Quinn said it was his teacher, Ms. Houston! Not sure how it looks like her, but Quinn was very sure that's what he had drawn and was very pleased with his Ms. Houston pumpkin. Ms. Houston was also pleased to hear Quinn had honored her in such a unique way.

And I (a.k.a. Mr. Stubborn), decided I didn't want my pumpkin cut at all. So it's still a pumpkin, not a jack-o-lantern. Quinn's has already started to rot, and mine is perfectly intact, so I might come out ahead in the long run!

These Days...

For all of August, Mommy and Logan didn't have to go to CMO, so they got to stay home together while I went to school every day. They had a blast.

Most of the time.

When Logan was potty training, he didn't wear much clothes. Even while baking.

He's really got the potty training thing down, but the pulling up the pants thing is going a little slower.

They spent time at the playground...

And the community garden...

Maybe they were spending too much time together. Mommy made this for a friend's little girl and had Logan try it on to see how it would fit her. He wasn't thrilled. She bribed him with gummy bears and he was much happier.

Then on the weekends, we all get to hang out. One weekend it was raining, so we headed to the mall.

And spent a lot of time at the sports shop with boats.

One night, we got our faces painted in town.

I've been doing really well at school! I got my first report card this week and the teacher says I'm awesome. Well, not in so many words, but I know that's what she meant. To work on the alphabet, every student in my class got to be King for the Day (or Queen), and we studied the letter their name starts with. I had to be patient and wait for my day, but it finally came. Here I am in my "crown." On my day, I got to bring a "Me Bag" filled with 5 things about me. I brought my Mario Kart video game, my radio, a picture of us camping, a picture of Mommy and me, and a picture I drew of me and Myles, my best friend at school.

When I was King for the Day, I got married! We were learning how the letter Q always goes with the letter U, so we had a wedding for Q and U. I told Mommy I was not ready to move out on my own, though.

On Labor Day, we got to go into Atlanta for DragonCon, a sci-fi convention with an awesome parade where everyone dresses up in cool costumes. I chose Spider-Man and Daddy picked a zombie shirt for Logan (that I wore to DragonCon when I was little). We got to ride the train downtown.

We watched the parade and were excited to see characters we knew, mostly superheroes. This guy was nice enough to take a picture with me. He liked my costume.

And we had fun running around being crazy as usual.

That same weekend, Decatur had the annual book festival. We got some new books and saw part of a play about Peter Pan. Logan and I are sitting up front in this picture.

I immediately dove into my new books.

Speaking of books, I have been reading chapter books like crazy. We can't check them out of the library fast enough. My favorites right now are the Magic Tree House books. I've read 3 already.

Daddy and I played an epic game of Monopoly that went on for days. I won big time. It was my first game, too!

This is the face of a kid who doesn't like his Mommy to sing in the car. My exact words were "STOP SINGING!"

The new soccer season started and I'm playing again. My team is called the Sharks and my coach is...Daddy! Our first game is this Friday, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I had another check-up at the dentist and Logan had his very first visit.

He did awesome!

Logan's back in "school" now and his best friend Violet is in his class again. Here's what they were wearing at pickup time the other day.

I'm also singing in the church choir, our first big performance is this Sunday, I'll remind Mommy to video it. Here's Logan sitting outside my choir practice. He loves his "look and find" books, so it kept him pretty busy, but he would also get up a lot to peek in the door to watch me. I'm not sure how musically talented this choir is, but we sure are enthusiastic! One time my choir teacher said, "That was great! Now this time let's all sing the same note!" Wish us luck!
