It's My Birthday!

Hi everyone!
I had an awesome birthday today!
This morning, I woke up and found this cool water table waiting for me. I played with it a ton.

Then we went to the airport to pick up Grandma and we went to a birthday lunch together.

After a little more playing with the water table, I took a long nap and then finally agreed to open more presents.

I got a super cool tricycle!

Here I am trying to figure it out, with Grandma's help:

I got some cool books and trucks and a puzzle and I loved them all.

After dinner, Daddy, Grandma and Mommy sang "Happy Birthday" to me (which I thought was hilarious!) and I got to blow out the candles on my cupcake (which I made Grandma relight so I could do it again!).

Thanks, everybody, for the great cards and presents. Thanks for thinking of me!
I had a great birthday and I can't wait for my party with my friends tomorrow. I'll make sure to get some good pictures!
Happy Birthday to me!

Almost 2!

Can you believe I'm almost two years old?! My big birthday is tomorrow so I thought I'd give you a little summary of what an awesome almost two year old is like!

*I am 34 inches tall and weigh 28 pounds.
*I wear 18 month clothes, size 4 diapers, and size 6 shoes.
*I have 14 teeth (still waiting on those top canine teeth to come through).
*I can say about 65 words- my favorites right now are "Ma," "truck," and "No!"
*I go to bed at 8 p.m. and I wake up around 7:30 a.m. And most nights I never make a peep!
*I take a nap in the afternoon for 2 or 3 hours. Mommy prefers the 3-hour nap days. Today I decided to not take a nap at all.
*I love to eat blueberries, bananas, cheese, carrots, and anything I can dip in ketchup.
*I like to play with trains, trucks, balls, and bubbles.
*I love going to the playground, music class, and the pool. At home I like to push my trucks around and play catch (I don't actually do much catching yet- mostly I throw and kick the ball and Mommy does the catching).
*My favorite books are "Where the Wild Things Are," and "Boys are Best!"
*I can point out the letters O, A, and P.
*I'm not a big fan of sharing, sitting still, or hearing "no."

In all, I'm a pretty happy, silly, loving, easy-going kid! Mommy and Daddy think I'm pretty awesome, so I must be doing something right.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from this past year. Thanks for checking out my blog!

Decatur Arts Festival

Hi everyone!
This morning, Mommy, Daddy and I walked downtown for the Decatur Arts Festival.
First, there was the kids' parade. There were fire trucks and police cars and lots of kids walking and riding bikes. Maybe next year I'll be in the parade.

We followed the parade to the kids' area of the festival, at one of my favorite parks.

And there were bubbles! They're just about my favorite thing right now.

I also got to play on the playground...

and in the sandbox...

and in the community garden.

They had art projects to make. I colored mine on the ground

Here's what I made:

There was a lady making balloon animals and things. Can you guess what she made me?
 (It's an airplane.)

Then we checked out the main area of the festival. Here's the pavilion with bands playing.

And here's some of the artwork. This is Pete the Cat. He's pretty famous around DeCATur.

And here are four chairs I wished I could sit in. Mommy said no.

We had a great time today! Maybe someday my art will be featured in the Arts Festival!

Big Boy Bed!

Lately, I haven't been sleeping too well in my crib, especially for my naps, so Mommy said it was time to try out a big boy bed. Yesterday, Daddy and I took apart my silly old crib and set up my cool new bed! Here's my bed with the sheets I picked out myself- they have choo choo trains on them. (Don't worry, we put the safety rail on before I got into bed for real.) I love my bed! Whenever I see it, I say "bed!"

Last night, Daddy and I read some bedtime stories...

Then we said goodnight and I was so excited to get into my bed!

Here I am at 9:00, loving my bed! (Thanks, Mommy for the flash while I was sleeping.)

And I slept all night. Not a peep out of me! I love my new bed!

The Learning Groove

Hi everyone!
I wanted to show you some pictures from my music class. Mommy and I go to class every Monday morning at my favorite bookstore, The Little Shop of Stories- right in downtown Decatur. It's my favorite because they have a train set. Music class is upstairs, and it overlooks the train set downstairs, so I spend a lot of music class staring at the train set saying "Choo!" The class is called The Learning Groove and it's pretty groovy.

One week, a photographer came to class to take pictures and he let us share them with you. (Thanks Mr. Josh- www.JoshLamkinPhotography.com)

Here I am during class. I must be taking a break from dancing.

Here's one of my teachers, Mr. Michael. He's funny.

Here's my other teacher, Mr. Eric. He's singing while my friend Anastasia and I jam out on the big drum.

Here's our class doing the Hokey Pokey.

And here are the rhythm sticks. I love them! Mommy hates them because we have to sit still when we use them. I don't like doing that. If you notice, I'm in the center of the circle. All the other kids like to sit quietly in their mommy's lap. I prefer to run around and dance and maybe throw the sticks around some.

Here's a song with the parachute. I love to dance under it.

Yeah, music class!!

P.S.- Tonight's my first night in my big boy bed! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi everyone! For Mother's Day, Dad and I prepared a picnic for Mommy. It worked out great because while Mommy and Daddy ate in the park, I got to play at the playground and watch the skateboarders at the nearby skate park. I gave Mommy a card and a new ipod so that she can play some new songs for me. Here's a video of our day:

I hope everyone else had a great Mothers Day too!
